So you think I could be regretting this trade long term?
Dahlin seems to have Hedman/Karlsson upside.
Still waiting for an answer..
If you want to do well in Fantasy hockey you alway take the bird in the hand. Always.

There was also a thread recently where an OP had an opportunity to accept a deal to acquire McDavid and Karlsson. He was asked to give up Buff, some picks. Another ?Mash the accept button?. Instead he tried to switch out Buff for Pavelski and the deal feel apart.
I just don?t understand the reasoning to risk losing a sure thing by asking for the unnecessary cherry on top.

^ agree 100%. A great thread awhile go changed my decision making from long term to win now. When Dahlin becomes the next Hedman/Karlsson as you indicate, while you still be in that league, will the league still be around, will you still be involved in fantasy hockey, etc. So many intangibles. In essence, go for the win now, build with now in mind, who knows what the future holds in fantasy hockey and more importantly life.

I'm not in position to win this year or the next one, look at my team it's all prospects/young players, I can wait for Dahlin to become an elite point producer. If you replace him by Hedman in the trade, you'd do it as quick as you're telling me now?
Yakapov, Ekblad, Hopkins, Depietro, and on and on. 1st overall picks don?t always develop as anticipated.
I know but I don't think it will be his case..
I will continue the trend - Seguin is the play here. Shouldn't even be a question.
This thread makes my head hurt. It really blows my mind when mangers focus on potential over proven I wish the op was in my league so I could have a farm team to pull from. I always find it amazing too when every response tells him this is what to do and then they say well you guys are wrong I can’t believe I am not being validated. And the right pick is Svechnikov not Dahlin.

If proven over potential was always the smart play, then nobody would have drafted and kept McDavid. After all, it was just potential....
I know that but I'd just hate myself making a trade I'd regret.
I'll wait dor the guy to answer and I'll tell you how it ends.

Thats the thing the only person who can lose this trade is him, the only way you can regret this is by not making this trade. Honestly you’ve probably already lost out on this trade as this guy comes to his senses so do yourself a favour and take Svechnikov and pray to god he becomes at least close to what Seguin is right now.
