If you have to move his salary you can get a lot more than that. I'd be looking at McAvoy or that type of player and that level pick or higher for a start.

I have to agree with others, Hanifin has a long way to go to reach Hedmans level and his next contract won't be pretty either. I can see Calgary dishing out the cash for him once his ELC expires at the end of this year. Hedmans contract is tough, but he brings value. Hanifin's next deal will be tough too and he has yet to reach his potential. We dont know if he will or not. At least you know what you have in Hedman.

you cut mid tire players that make too much money not your studs....to move Hedman you need a good hockey deal and not salary dump type of deal. This is not even close in terms of good hockey deal. Only way this possibly becomes win for you if that 2019 pick is first overall.
