    Hey everyone,

In our league (in the sig) we were thinking about changing our minor bench to 10 players rather than 5. I was wondering what your ideal number would be for a farm system with a league that is 12 teams, 25 players (minus the farm system)O
Our minor rule is they either have to be in the minors or have played less than 10 NHL games

    Cheers

If 10 NHL GP is the rule then you'll cycle through them pretty quick - I think the lowest in any of my leagues is 82.

But I'm a fan of large rosters. The deeper the better, I always say. I'm in a ten-team dynasty and we have 11 farm spots (under 100GP); 2 sixteen-team dynasties with 13 farm spots (under 100GP and under 82GP), and a 20-team deep keeper with 10 farm spots (23 yrs old or younger).

    I'd say 10 is a good number, even 12.

I think the ideal number depends on how much you personally research prospects and seek to use them to make trades. If you love prospecting, then as many as you can get. If not, then fewer.

Your league currently has 60 prospect slots. Which works out to about the 2 best prospects per NHL team. That seems low, especially since every NHL Draft brings in another crop of 10-20 interesting guys. 10 sounds like a good compromise, but you may want to go higher.

    Thanks guys.

We will have to bump up the number of games played for next season. Perhaps 30 or so.
