I am always one that waits on goalies and lets others take the risk. Take Talbot last year... he was drafted early based on his previous season... then he took a step back. Early in the draft I want consistency and am always nervous to draft a goalie early. That is personal preference.. and if you like to have a goalie early... then yes, I would take Hellebuyck or Vasileskiy early.

I almost think Vasileskiy is the safer pick cause Tampa has been good for multiple years. Winnipeg was good for 1 year.. and Edmonton was also good for 1 year and then took a huge step backward.

You're in an interesting spot...

You can either guarantee yourself one of the top tier goalies (by taking Helle), this could very well start a goalie run that lasts most of the second round. The problem with this is you're burning a very valuable pick on the most volatile position.

The alternative is to draft a skater and risk someone else starting the goalie run at which point I think your options available in the 3rd are much more limited.

I would look to take a high end forward here as well especially with you taking EK first, which was also a good choice.

I would take Evgeny Kuznetsov and run to the hills! 83 pts in 79 games in the regular season. Topped that off with 32 pts in 24 games in the play-offs. Still only 26 years of age. Lots of prime years left in this horse.

Barzal is the youngest of the group at 21 years old and 85 pts last season ... everyone is banking that he regresses this up-coming season (I say slightly). I wouldn't hold it against you if you went with Barzal either.

I took Kuzntsov I think the odd are better that Seguin will still be available for my next pick than Kuzy. Plus, with my league setting (playoff pool), Ive got to favor players from better team.
