10. EDM: Evan Bouchard, D, London - Injury to Sekra opens the door, still a tough roster to crack... if he makes it this year, I am guessing 15-20 points.

17. NJD: Ty Smith, D, Spokane - I think a year to develop and I think Spokane could have a good team in WHL this year... I think DEvils are patient and let him develop in WHL.

21. SJS: Ryan Merkley, D, Guelph - Boom or Bust option here... Dobber has his fantasy upside as 9.0 but NHL likeliness of 4.00... so definitely a risk/reward pick. AS for your question... I think I would draft Buchard ahead of Boqvist and maybe even Hughes. Bouchard could likely be PP1 D on a Powerplay with McDavid someday... huge opportunity.

Ok thanks a lot. So basically they're a long shots outside of Dahlin. We got some sort of a farm system so it's no big deal. I'll see how the draft goes and I'll keep an eye on Bouchard for sure

If you're willing to take the gamble, Merkley over Smith is completely reasonable. Smith is the safer choice but Merkley has higher upside if he ever reaches it (I doubt it but it's possible). Otherwise the order is fine for points-only. Bouchard over Boqvist is reasonable but I like Boqvist's upside more.

Merkley reminds me a lot of Gostisbehere. Swing for the fences with D prospects. The guy oozes with elite skill... and this was playing with a sh*t show of a team in Guelph. Not sure how your draft works, but just like the NHL one, he will definitely go well after the only 2 I would consider in his range of NHL points potential (Hughes & Boqvist)
