    Default Worth holding Ryan Spooner?

This is regarding the keeper league in my sig. I grabbed Spooner off FA hoping he can contribute in the Rangers' top 6. However, my team has a few weak links-Nyquist, Williams, Lucic-but i'm still a contender. I have to get rid of one of those, and I'm debating between Nyquist and Spooner-which do you guys think has more upside, for at least this upcoming season?

I would give up Williams... His spot is most in doubt with Svech coming in

I would toss Nyquist aside to keep an empty roster spot - I'm that done with him. I wouldn't worry about William in Svech's 1st year. he'll remain in the top 6. Lucic is still good for periphs. Eventually McClellan will figure out he should stand Lucic in front of the net at all times when McD is on the ice.

McD should be able to bounce 30 in off his head... (accidentally predicted a 30g season for Lucic - I don't really mean it)

Dropping Williams is the right move.

Is it though? I mean. . His goals, points, sog, ppp, pim have all been even or better than Nyqvist in the past three years.

He's better than Nyqvist in you set up. Nyqvist is still the sexier name - but Williams is the better fantasy option. Take a look at their stats. I mean.. it's not super close

I have one league with very similar cats. Through some formula fantrax gives all players a fantasy score

    For perspective Wayne Simmonds the last 3 years has held scores of - 79 15/16, 94 16/17, 66 17/18

    Williams - 15/16 56, 16/17 62, 17/18 60
    Nyquist - 15/16 43, 16/17 48, 17/18 45

In two of the 3 years Williams is closer to Simmonds value than Nyquist... It's not close. Nyquist I not a good option in your league to own. Comparables in my league to Nyquist - B. Gibbons, B. Dillon, T. Tatar, Jarnkrok, Oleksiak.

    Keep Williams - drop Nyquist

I'd definitely hold Spooner, as he's much more likely to make progress this year and turn into something than Nyquist. Nyquist isn't great in anything beyond points-only, and it's been a while since he's been good enough on poor Detroit team to keep in anything short of a dynasty.
