Need help. Really considering a trade.
In a 10 man keeper league, keep any 10, any position

    Must start 6F, 3D, 1G

    Goal heavy scoring 5 for a G, 3 for an A, .25 for a PIM
Goalies 5 for W 5 for shutout. .2 for save, -1 for GA

my current team (K indicates for sure keeper)

    Eichel (k) McAvoy (k)
    Scheifele (k) Provorov (k)
    Hischier (k) Barrie (k)
    Stone (k)
    Couture (k)
    Voaracek
    Connor
    Johansen

I would be trading Voracek, Connor, the 1st overall pick and the 3rd overall pick for Auston Matthews

    thoughts?

First of all, who is available in this draft?? If it is only 2018 draftees, then you are trading Voracek, Kyle Connor, Dahlin and say Zadina for Matthews?? Or are players like Pettersson available??

I see you can only keep 10 players, is this 10 players and then you draft?? Or do you draft and then have to announce your 10 keepers??

How many teams are in this league?? Are goalies not normally kept in this league??

Interested to hear other opinions but Personally I'd do the trade.

in keeper league it's so hard to get your hands on guys like Matthews so when you can...you pay the price. Quality over quantity.

+ players in the re-draft are most likely very similar in the first few rounds 45-55?!

are you getting late rounds pick in return to complete your team?

All 12 teams keep any 10 guys. About half of the teams keep a goalie.
After keepers are announced, all players (everyone not kept and 2018 draft class available)

I would do it. In my opinion Connor and Voracek are replaceable but Matthews is not. Now you're last keeper would be Johansen.

I think you may be overpaying jussstt slightly only because that #1 overall is going to be Rasmus Dahlin. With that said when you’re trading for a young, established, generational talent like Auston Matthews in a dynasty keeper. You gotta throw something sweet to aquire this type of player.

    Will Pettersson be kept??

So you could be trading Dahlin Pettersson Connor and Voracek for Matthews??

Matthews is a "generational" player now?? Since when??
Call me crazy, but I am not trading all that for Matthews..

Pettersson will be kept, yes. It would be a lot to trade, but I feel I have the depth to do it and would be getting the best player.

It's a heavy price, but Matthews will be a sure keeper for the years to come.

I would personaly not do it, but it's a far from a stupid trade.

In your settings, I would keep Connor and draft Svechnikov and Zadina. Lots of goals in those three

You really have to put it in this perspective. There's no chance I'm trading 4 roster players for a guy who will net me +10-15 points more than what you currently have. You have depth but the second you trade away those top picks you lose it because now your first pick is somewhere in round 2 (13-26th?).
    16 Team - Keep 5 - H2H Points
    Start: 2C/2LW/2RW/4D/2G - 4Bench
    G/A(1.25) STP(1.5) GWG(3) SOG(0.25) H(0.2) Blks(0.25) +/-(0.25) PIM(0.1) FOW(0.1)

    C: Malkin, Kopitar, Hartman, Johansen
    LW: Ovechkin, Pacioretty, Barbashev (C)
RW: Rust, Mangiapane (LW), Rodrigues (LW)
D: DeAngelo, Karlsson, Faulk, Morrisey, Myers
G: A. Forsberg, Price, Reimer, Holtby

I'm drafting Dahlin and Svechnikov/Zadina if I am you.. Aswell as keeping Voracek and K.Connor.. Voracek isn't a must keep for me, but he is good.. K.Connor is going to be very solid!! And then Dahlin and Svechnikov/Zadina is a beauty combo for years to come.. Is all that worth one player??

I feel that’s way too much to give for Matthews. Especially with the hype of Dahlin, Svechnikov and Zadina.

Im leaning towards no deal here. Reasons being

1 - If you don't do the deal your team will improve simply because you have the first pick in the draft. Drop Vorachek and re-draft either him OR SOMEONE BETTER than him with your first pick.

2 - Keep 100, start 100 is a league I'd be drafting to win each year going for the BPA rather than drafting wishes and hurting my team's depth.

I do see a couple really young players on your team but I'm not sure how many rookies and prospects are actually kept in their early seasons with your league set up? Can you go for the win and roll the dice on a Calder player in later rounds? It could be that I don't understand the dynamics the drafting in your league so take that with a grain of salt.

As saucelife said above, making the deal might give you more points out of a position, but if you are also giving up the draft picks you stand the chance of losing those points in other starters because you've traded your depth away. So again, I'm not drafting 2018 entry draft darlings in the first round unless you thing they can break 55 points, I'm picking whoever is better than who you dropped.
