Keller Vs Pettersson - Who's best in Dynasty League

I'm in a keeper/dynasty points only league. I have to choose between C Keller and E Pettersson as my last keeper.

Who does better in the next year? 3 years? lifetime ?

I would keep EP without much hesitation.

I keep Keller. He's already their guy after year 1. No way they're trying to replace him unless they're trading him somewhere where he has an equal opportunity. Which is not likely.

You trade the one that gets you the best return and keep the other.

If you can't trade one for any reason, the choice is Keller and it's an easy one. Both players are the same age and Keller has already put up 65 points at the NHL level as a 19 year old. That's his floor. Pettersson has yet to play in the NHL and may not do so this year. Sure EP has looked great in the SHL and looks like a sure bet to be a stud but there's no guarantee that he'll live up to the hype.

Finally, Even if Pettersson ends up the better player, how much better than Keller would he realistically be? 5 points? Maybe 10 at best? Nowhere near enough to justify the risk.

I like this answer, but if you can't trade and are forced to decide, I'd go with Keller.

Upside are about the same (I personally think Keller is higher, but that's open to debate) but one of these players has proven he can be productive in the NHL. The other has not.

To keep Petterson would be needlessly poor risk management.

Short term, it'd be Keller but if ur looking for long term, i think Elias Petterson will be the better player to own.

In my opinion, these two are miles apart. For me it is very easily Clayton Keller for all of the reasons mentioned above and more.

I am honestly shocked that Pettersson is getting as much love as he is over Keller.. The HYPE train has arrived at the station.. I would trade my Pettersson for Keller in a heartbeat!!

Give me Keller, and I wouldn’t even particularly say it’s that close. Dude just flipped 65+ as a rookie on a really inept offensive team. He’s got ridiculously high upside, and his career NTDP point-per-game numbers rank with names like Matthews, Eichel, and Pat Kane. He’s the real deal folks, and he’s already done it.

I get that Pettersson is a sublime prospect, but he hasn’t played a single NHL game to date and he’s got a lot to prove to get to Keller’s level imo.

Both with be PPG players in their prime. If I had to choose, I'll take Keller, by a hair.
