kariya on waivers

Kariya was dropped in my league. I\'m considering picking him up but I\'m concerned about his +/- and declining point total last year. I have first waiver priority. My team and league scoring are in my signature. I probably wouldn\'t include Kariya in my eight keepers.

Would you retain first waiver priority or would you pick up Kariya?

Start 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 1Util, 2G.

Max games = 246 for C,LW,RW; 328 for D; 82 for Util; 164 for G

Okay, we agree that Kariya isn\'t the superstar of old, but I still think he\'s a worthwhile pickup. You\'ll have a great opportunity to move him later on if you grab him. Someone will want his points. I don\'t think there\'s much danger in any of his totals declining this year. He\'s a playmaker first and there appears to be a more successful surrounding core this year. The additions of Berglund & Oshie. A maturing Perrin. McDonald seeming to settle in. A potential return to 20 goal form by Stempniak. Boyes. I see this as a good thing for Kariya. The team should also be mildly improved, thus a good omen for +/-. I would expect a minimum of a repeat of last years points and I\'m mildly optimistic for a small increase in points.

I\'d grab him. My temptation would be to shed one of your tenders.

i\'d shed a tender too, probably Manny. in a 10 team league i\'ve got to think that Kariya would have more value assuming you can hit your max played for goaltending.
