Default J.T. Miller or Ryan Johansen for a keepers league?

    Hey guys
Looking for the common Dobber's community wisdom here.
I need to submit my top 10 keepers list soon and I'm struggling with my last spot. I own both JT Miller and Ryan Johansen and I don't know who to keep. Miller in Tampa seems to have higher upside but it all depends who he's playing with. RJ is due for a rebound year after a couple of lousy ones. Wouldn't you agree?

So for a keepers league, who's the best keeper?

EDIT: It's a point-only league with F, D and G positions only. Weekly alignment, not H2H. Nine teams total, we keep 10 players and draft 10 each year.

    Cheers

RyJo probably, in hopes of a rebound plus even if he does poorly he still has enough name value that you can deal him for a decent return. Miller is intriguing, but who's to say if the 22 games he played with Tampa were representative of what he can do for them over the long haul.

Need more info. What are your league settings? Position eligibility could be the deciding factor.

Same with if it's points-only or multicat. Roto or H2H, etc.

    Both players have their uses.

Good point guys. I just edited the initial post.

Miller for me. I think Johansen's upside is limited in Nashville.

Both are questionable yet intriguing. I have owned both in the past. I'd go Miller as no one in Nashville seems to put up a ton of points and Miller is on a stacked Tampa team probably with stammer and kuch.

I would bank on Miller pushing 30 goals this year; he's been a remarkably consistent player and is getting top minutes on one of the league's best teams. If Stamkos and Kucherov made Namestnikov valuable, imagine what they can do with a legitimate top-six forward.

I owned RyJo last year in one of my leagues and it was quite frustrating to say the least. It was another underwhelming year, and as far as I can tell, a 20 goal season would be reaching his ceiling. Rationale? He doesn't put a whole lot of anything on net in Nashville.

In this case I would say make the choice based on what fits best with your other keepers. RyJo has the higher floor, but Miller probably has the higher ceiling.

Miller as well... but I wonder what the other options on your roster might be that have been discounted?

I'll take Johansen here. He's the uncontested #1 center in Nashville, he'll get all the favorable o-zone deployments, he's just coming up on his 27th birthday while Nashville looks to be primed to contend, and he had a really strong playoffs. I'll take the guaranteed 1st line guy, lower floor, and a possible rebound to top form. and bet on a talented and motivated Nashville team bumping his production. Miller is a fine option but there's more risk there given the wealth of options TB has on the wing.

For Miller to hit 30 goals, one of two things have to happen - increase his SOG from his last seasons career high of 143 to 186... OR bump his shooting % from 16.1 to over 20%.
