Too early, but not by much. Risk/reward picks in that round range aren't a bad idea. If Karlsson departs and somehow Sergachev doesn't come to Ottawa, you just won the PP1 lottery, and even on a bad team like Ottawa that will be gold.
Did I get him too early? Steal? Just right? Here is my roster

Tough to say if it's a good pick yet. Higher risk/reward, and those are the fun picks.
I will say that your team really seems to be lacking hits.

Thanks guys ... and as for hits ... that always seems to be my problem aha
Tough call, he is an obvious talent but usage is up in the air and is contingent on Karlsson situation getting sorted. Curious to know what other dmen were available around that time? Did you reach based on other options? Maybe.

5-6 would have been ideal. Depends on what was available at that time. Solid overall.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
Here are top players left ranked in league scoring from last season. Tyler Myers just got taken then I'm thinking "Chabot is worth more than him right?"
Giordano
Leddy
Keith
Goligoski
Vlasic
Maata
Phaneuf
Ekholm
Johnson E
Martinez
Manson
Vatanen
Dez Zotto
Matheson
Braun
Slavin
Spurgeon
Seabrook
Ceci
Skjei
Orlov
Lindholm H
Lindell
Chara
Green
Morrissey
Johns
McDonagh
Schmidt
Fowler
Zadorov
Savard
Vatanen stands out if you wanted to "reach" at the pick. Otherwise, I'd have probably gone for the surefire 40+ points and taken Leddy, or even Green/Fowler/Schmidt. All boring, but solid picks.

Thanks for your guys responses. I was upset, a couple picks before I got Boeser, a guy got Matt Murray. I would have had Hellebuyck + Murray as a goalie tandem in a 16 team league. Having Boeser doesn't hurt I suppose. Just wish I got a better goalie other than Varlamov but he should put up a decent season since Colorado is looking not TOO bad right now.
In the prospect draft I have the 4th overall pick. Assuming Dahlin goes #1, Pettersson - Mittelstadt - Svechnikov will all be available. Prospect draft is for anyone under 40 some games.
It would be easier to evaluate the Chabot pick (to me anyways) if you posted the 11th round, or two or three picks before and after where chabot went...
In the 13th round I got Jake Debrusk
Round 11
Tyler Toffoli
Colin Miller
Nolan Patrick
Nazem Kadri
Ryan Johansen
Oliver Bjorkstrand
Boone Jenner
Eric Staal
Nick Bjugstad
Roberto Luongo
Cam Atkinson
Alex Tuch
Thomas Chabot
Keith Kinkaid
Brandon Montour
Max Pacioretty
Round 12
Elias Lindholm
Matt Duchene
Reilly Smith
Jonathan Drouin - I PICKED HIM
Jonathan Toews
Chris Kreider
Yanni Gourde
Kevin Fiala
Mike Matheson
Craig Smith
Jacob Markstrom
Shea Weber
Danton Heinen
Jared Spurgeon
Adrian Kempe
Derek Stepan
Looking at that list, it feels like you reached a bit for Chabot. Banking heavily on his potential. I don't think it's an awful pick, but I think I would have left him for another round or two...
please keep updating your roster picks, I am curious as I too am in a dynasty league (starting from scratch) and am curious on how the draft and picks went.
Since its dynasty lots of young guns are being picked early vs older but proven players
