At this point in the draft, my team is mostly lacking pure scoring.
We always expect young kids to continually rise... and while I think this one exceeded expectations last year, being locked at the hip to Nathan MacKinnon means a certain amount of stats will be there.
The team simply doesn't have a better option for him as winger.

7.6 Morgan Rielly (D) - Toronto

Rielly had a break out season last year and his line-mates have only gotten better with the recent acquisition of John Tavares. Should be getting PP1 minutes so his numbers should at least be as good as they were last year.

7.7 Ryan Getzlaf (F) Ducks

Considering he was a point per game player last year, I think it is appropriate to take him now. I know... I know he is getting old and is getting injured. But I am not concerned about 'winning' the website portion I am worried about completing a mock draft that helps us all learn. It is easier to try and take the players that you think will play all 82 games because we don't get any transactions throughout the year. But in a real draft with these stats, I think Getzlaf should go before 79th overall... and if he does end up missing a month of the season, I would stream in some players that will help me in categories that I might be lagging in. But if the Ducks are healthy all season... book Getz in for 65+ points, 20PPP, 40 PIMs, 120 hits... I know he lacks in shooting, but oh well I already got some big shooters.

And besides... Getz isn't as old as he looks....
