Point I'm trying to get at is Dumba being a Tier below Hamilton when both have proven to be able to hit 50 points, coupled with the fact that Dumba is younger and has just as good, if not better line-mates than Hamilton. It's a little baffling to me.

I think it is a lot closer than this thread suggests. I?d still take Hamilton before Dumba but just barely.

As a couple posters have mentioned, I'm surprised by how it's unanimous for Hamilton. In my opinion it's much closer then this thread suggests. Both have one 50pt season under their belts but Dumba is almost 2 years younger. I understand that Dumba has to compete with Suter for prime minutes (where as Hamilton is basically handed the top spot on his new team)...but it's not like Suter is an offensive dynamo and he is getting up there in age. I wouldn't be shocked if Dumba usurps Suter as soon as next season. Also Hamilton joining a new team is an unknown at this point. Hamilton is more goal heavy where as Dumba is assist heavy but thats besides the point since this is for points only. I'm not sure which is the better keep in a points only...but I know it's much closer then meets the eye.

Near unanimity is fine, because sometimes things are just that way. It may be close, but (nearly?) everyone wants Hamilton. For some of us, it's close, for others, it's not.

AS a sort of example: 8 is always more than 7.9, 7 and 1, but there are differing amounts of closeness. The unanimity of those 3 results tells us nothing about how close the 2 numbers being compared actually are. Hamilton would be a unanimous pick over any of us, but we aren't close to him like Dumba is.

It's probably closer than being led on here but Hamilton does just feel safer. Almost definitely a lower floor and probably a similar ceiling so he's my pick going into this season. Next season it wouldn't surprise me if I flipped but I need another season before I do.
