I might agree with you if the skaters in front of him were better. I don't have much faith in that entire NYI team for next year.
Who is out here with me? I just acquired him.
I have always believed in the talent (right, Havanablast? .)
Lehner has just been wound way too tight and it causes injuries and makes him look like a psycho and a loose cannon. Which he might be.
But Barry Trotz never has bad goalies. Doesn't seem like Lou does often. These guys know what they are doing. I think Lehner can thrive with the Isles. And he sorta needs to or it could be back to Europe. I believe he finally puts it together and is a valuable asset who exceeds expectations to the delight of those who get him cheap and early.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
He's a guy I might grab if I don't get my top options in the draft for sure. I'm intrigued to see how he does with a team run by Trotz. He's moving to a slightly better team, I think...? The Isles and Sabres have had some big changes this offseason so I'm not really sure. No guarantee Trotz is able to get that team together defensively, but he's worth a dice roll as a number 3 goalie.

Did I hear that Mitch Korn is rumoured to be coming to Long Island? If so, boo-ya for Lehner.

I am decidely not out there with you on Lehner, as I think the "loose cannon" part is real. However, he's worth rostering in a deep league. Plus you can flip him if he gets hot, and we all know that you can wheel & deal.

I think staple and gross mention that Korn is likely to join the team but he'd be less involved with the day to day stuff ; Terreri and Brathwaite retained for that angle .
maybe he comes in bi-weekly to see the progress of the tips he's given to lehner/greiss as well as keep tabs on the prospects.
He's actually good, his teams just always have been terrible. He'll post the same sv% i think, get more wins, face a slight dip in shots, and thus a slightly better GAA. But my worry is instead of his injury happening by December/January, that injury happens February now because he's not as busy in the Islanders.
He's a good cheap 3rd option in fantasy hockey I think.

He's a good goalie and he's already had good years so I'm now sure what "finally puts it together" means.

LOL...yes... yes you have ... I guess.
HE IS Psycho and a Loose Cannon... going to the Isle isn't going to change that IMO.
And Trotz won't have bad goalies... I don't expect Lehner to magically turn into something he quite clearly has failed to be in 2 different locations.
Most definitely nab him late round... what do you have to lose, but "Delight" I believe will be more of his grade (D-) than the response to nabbing him. But Good Luck my friend.
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results... well... we all know what that is.
You were 110% correct on Yak. Lehner? I'll happily start a thread next year praising your Fantasy Hockey Super Powers if you get this one right! lol

You're "now sure"?
or
You're "not sure" what "Finally puts it together" means?
I think what he means is something like out of 31 potential Starting Goalies (if he even wins the starting gig in the Isle) there's probably 20 - 25 other goalies one would rather draft/acquire (if not more). Call it the team, call it his inconsistent play (as you mentioned, "Already had (some) good years" and also had some dreadful years. "Finally puts it together" means he shores up his inconsistent play while the team in front of him demonstrates quality D and we see the proof in the Fantasy Stat Return... he just hasn't been a great own in many Fantasy leagues (and nearly all that I'm a part of).
It was a typo. Not sure.
So at best we'll see what we've already seen from him in Buffalo. Two out of his three years there were .920 or better. Maybe Trotz's system can help his year-to-year consistency but it's too early to go there because Lehner signed a one-year deal. Plus he didn't suddenly become durable just because he signed with a new team. He'll still miss his share of games. The only question is will he miss five games or 50?
