Ottawa eats half the contract, Anderson at 2.375mill looks real good for Buffalo. But, that would only allow Ottawa to eat part of 1 more contract (already eating 1.75mill till 2020-21 season is done on Dion).

I wouldn't be surprised if he got traded to somewhere to be a backup and the Senators retained a decent chunk of salary.

Carolina and Buffalo might both make sense on a retained salary deal. Maybe Long Island depending on what they decide to do, but I think they're more likely to target one of the free agents.

That article is a great trip down memory lane, mostly for this gem:

They wrote that in 2011! I think the got the "end of career" timing wrong by just a little bit. Flyers also re-signed Voracek & let Leino go then, both good moves.

I dont mind it if the isles kicked tires on him but ottawa would have to take back Greiss @ 3.3 x 2 years which probably isnt something they'd consider unless isles added a sweetener
