LOL- I had just typed out a long explanation why Chicago was taking Boqvist. Anyways, Chicago is please to draft USNTDP product Oliver Wahlstrom. Wahlstrom will be an excellent sniper to fit with Kane and/or Shmaltz at the end of the 18-19 season.

Chicago was desperately trying to trade up to draft Quinn Hughes. Besides Dahlen, Hughes is the most NHL-ready dman and is exactly what the Hawks need- a puck-moving, PP-QBing defensemen.
