Things are starting to get a little sketchy. Definitely was going to take Merkley, Bokk, or Denisenko. Torn between 2 forwards- I'll take Martin Kaut RW, Pardubice-Czech Extraliga. While Chicago could use a dman, always go BPA. They'll have to go D in the 2nd round.

He was the other player I was considering. I really like what Thomas brings.

The St. Louis blues are proud to select Jake Wise from the US U18 development team.

Wise could be a steal in this draft in my opinion. Watched him play in a tournament when he was 11 years old, and said he is going to be a superstar. Can't wait to see him play with Boston University next year! Hehas great individual skills, but needs to work on team play.

With the 25th pick in the draft, the Maple Leafs are confused but yet ecstatic to see Ryan Merkley still on the board. The former #1 overall pick in the OHL has elite vision and composure on the back end and is exactly the type of right shooting defender the Leafs need.

Id be willing to bet a very large wager that Merkley won't be available at 25th overall come the NHL draft.

Word out of the combine was that Merkley is likely going to drop to the 2nd round but we'll see. A team like the Rangers could definitely take that gamble with pick #26 or #28 because they have so many picks.

So, saying that, I'll take that bet. But not for a lot of money because we're talking about insane NHL GMs here... $5?

If he came across in the interviews as the Merkley that fueled the rumours all season - he will definitely drop to the 2nd round. but not past NYI first 2nd round pick. He'll fit well with Ho-Sang.

I don't see the Leafs taking him at 25 and there are two many character red flags for them to draft him. They are all about team first, good person on and off the ice. Merkley does not fit that 'person' mold the Leafs are looking for -- therefore, if available at #25 the Leafs will likely pass (**unless Dubas firmly believes they can break him and remold him)
