I'd want pick 4 and his 1st next year or something more elite.
I currently have the 3rd overall pick in the upcoming draft (most likely Zadina). Another GM is interested in trading for my 3rd, hes currently got 4th overall. If I was to trade down from 3rd to 4th and get his 2nd (18th overall) would that be worth it? Points only league, would probably look to draft Wahlstrom with the 4th overall. Or is Zadina worth it to hang on to the 3rd overall.

I would wait until your pick is on the clock before you make this trade for two reasons.
1) What if Dahlin or Svehnikov are available at 3rd overall and you want one of them?
2) When your pick is on the clock, people know exactly who they are trading up to get and they might pay a even higher price for that.
yeah I would try and extract further returns
waiting is also a great tactic
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
