    Default NHLe Calculator

If any of you use NHLe translations to compare production across leagues or are interested in doing so, we now have our own NHLe calculator.

Also, iCYMI we have NHL depth charts too.

    Eric,

Am I doing something wrong? I put in McDavid's last numbers in the OHL and the NHLe was 64. I did the same for Sid and it was 68.
Is this a tool to project future NHL production? I just want to make sure I am using this correctly.

    Thanks man!

    You're not doing anything wrong.

TBH I don't know a ton about NHLe but in my experience the formula falls apart with the overnight sensation young super-rookies. The formula didn't work well with Barzal, Boeser, Hischier, etc either. However in most cases I've tried it gave a result I was happy with. I wonder if there is some information out there to account for player age because this seems to work best with slightly older prospects/players playing outside the NHL.

I believe this tool is most useful for determining short-term upside for many of the players potentially coming into the NHL.

Got it! Ok. Because Svechnikov and Zadina are in the 30's. I'm not drafting those bums!

It can definitely be wrong. It's a calc that says if a player got this amount of points in one league this year, then what is their expected point total in the NHL next year. The equivalencies change every year. Here is an article that talks about it.
