Who out of this group would you trade to Dahlin?

MacKinnon, Tavares, Marchand, Klingberg, Giroux or Jones

Which Jones? I wouldn't be trading any of the others, they're all established superstars.

Dahlin is an unreal prospect, but still a prospect.

I am assuming Seth Jones? Really, if I have Dahlin, I would trade him for all the above. in three years you'll have forgotten you made this deal anyway. Even though Marchand has one of the highest ceilings, he's one I would probably hesitate to trade for. The age disparity there is starting to become too much for my liking if you've got a golden ticket in hand

Then flipping my advice - I'd probably move Marchand, BUT.. I'd want a second piece. 85pts in 68 games = 103pt pace this past season - that's 3 straight years of increased production. He's got a few good years left. I wouldn't do any of those 1-1. Even if Dahlin becomes Lidstrom, Bourque or Karlsson with defence because it will take multiple years to get there

I replied with Tavares and Suter for Dahlin, Point and a 1st (2019)? I may sound crazy, but Tavares does not dazzle me as much as the others.

Depending on team and league settings, I think could be a step backwards for a couple years.

That wouldn't do it for me either. Dahlin is the shiny new toy, so to get him you're definitely going to have to pay a premium. Point is still in that category as well. To ask for those two plus a first just seems like too big a deal to make work. I'd be looking to keep it smaller. Maybe try offering Marchand for Dahlin and a pick upgrade? Still add a little value for yourself without pushing more big pieces into the deal.

I'd consider Giroux. He's the center I like the least on your list and it's the easiest position to replace. Outside of this season he's had declining point totals for 3 straight and is now over 30. I definitely like Marchand more for the next few seasons (and possibly the rest of their careers), especially given position. Giroux didn't look great in the playoffs.

I'll say that I think any of the above is an overpayment for a prospect at this stage but there is a solid chance Dahlin is the next huge d man so it may well be worth the risk.

He has not been drafted yet. So the FO this year and a first rounder next year. But it does not matter. He is NOT interested.

If you're offering Giroux, I definitely wouldn't be adding on Theodore who could become a great D man himself..
