Two great moves - Dubnyk and Staal.

The biggest question... what could this team have been if Parise wasn't always injured.

The new guy is going to have a mess to clean up the Suter and PArise contracts.

Yeah, is there difference between not renewed and not resigned?

My bad... resigned... I guess its one of those words that have multiple meanings.

    Resign - Re-signed... to re-upp or renew a contract.

Resign - to quit or retire from a position.

I don't think so.. Suter is still earning his - and I think he'll continue his high level of play over the next 4-5 years... Parise's going to end up on LTIR before his expires - that will resolve his 7.5m hit

Yes Suter is still earning his... the contract is for another 7 years... I don;t think Suter will be a 30 minute man worth 7.5 million when he is 40 years old!

Yeah at best he's Chara now, who's been about 23min the last few yrs. And Chara in his prime was doing 26min. The most he average for a season was when he was 29 and did 27:58/game. For reference Suter has 3 seasons where he's done more than that.

This isn't entirely surprising, given the lack of playoff success. Hard to blame it all on the GM, but they've had coaching changes that haven't worked, so it makes sense to change the management next.

The only real mistake is the Parise/Suter contracts, which at the time was a major PR move for the Wild, bringing home to local boys (and big-name free agents at the time). The contracts were ridiculously long, and I think most people knew that at the time, but that is/was what it costs to land the best UFAs.

This is the start of some changes in Sota. For starters, the Wild need to do anything short of kidnapping to get Kaprizov over from the K. They also need to field offers for some of their core that still have value, such as Charlie Coyle or Jason Zucker. I don't know what they're going to do with Parise and his cap hit. Suter will still be a solid vet, a la Zdeno Chara, Andrei Markov or Rob Blake, until he's 6,427 years old. But Parise, gees.
