Jets' Josh Morrissey suspended 1 game for cross-checking Eric Staal
Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau calls hit 'vicious'

when the point of contact is the face.. it's not good. Staal has a long neck so he had to go really high

I'm sure the kid didn't mean it, but man, that hit was absolutely suspension worthy.
I think one game is fair. Entirely unintentional, Staal was fine a couple minutes after, no prior offenses for Morrissey, but at the end of the day it was a crosscheck to the head. I've seen worse infractions, with intention, get no games, but that doesn't change what happened on this play.
Hope it doesn't hurt the Jets too much. Hopefully Myers or Enstrom can step back in, because I'm not sure Niku is ready for NHL playoffs.
It's always going to be frustrating for the fans of that team considering the crap that gets let go unpunished. This was clearly reckless though.

I agree with the suspension.. But I akso think Subban(on Mackinnon) should have got a game aswell as Foligno(on Trouba)..

How does this go uncalled in the game, on the PP, wide open in front of the net, all players in the zone.....4 refs supposedly watching the play......and no called was made but it's suspension worthy.
The refs should be suspended too!
The Wild would have prefered to go on a 5 on 3 earlier in the game when it was 0-0 rather than have Morrissey suspended.
They should have had both; a 5 on 3 and a Morrissey suspension. This is why people say that the officiating is so inconsistent. It is so sad that you can 2-hand somebody in the face and NOT get a penalty in certain game situations because the refs don't have the balls to call it, but the play happens to be suspension worthy. Shameful...
