I am predicting a close game with the flyers winning in overtime. 4-3.

I just hope Couturier plays! I will be PVRing this game and watching it when I get home!! Go Flyers!
It was a great night for sports in the Toronto area. Blue Jay double header. Raptors playoffs. TFC Champions league final, and yes, 3 great hockey games. I actually kicked my wife upstairs. Needed the bigger screen.

Ironically, Gudas is the only one at fault here. Every team runs variations of drills like this. You split the ice lengthways and there's no issue. Gudas drifted way way over, much farther than he needed or was supposed to. Couturier wasn't looking because there's never supposed to be someone there for him to look for.

Dominik Simon draws in and gets to play top line with Crosby.

Flyers projected lines do not include Couturier according to nhl.com.

Flyers are going with Elliot again... he has to play a great game again or I think they give Mrazek a shot.

Giroux mentioned Ville Leino and his big run with the Flyers in the playoffs... which makes it seem like Couturier will not play and that he wants someone to step up like Leino did with Carter and Gagne out in the playoffs early that year...

Jordan Weal... Is my guess here!

I'm guessing that Matt Read was in the bathroom when they were talking about not taking ANY stupid penalties. Goal Pittsburgh.

    Were you at practice?

From what the video shows, Couturier was going at full speed, with his head firmly between his legs. Saying there is never supposed to be an obstacle in your way is a poor way to go around any ice surface. It's fast, people slip, things move... The prudent thing is to keep your head up. I think kids learn that in hockey at age 5. Couturier has much of the blame. If he has his head up, he has time to move, slow down or even stop and no contact occurs.

I feel like these are basic skills for getting around in the World, let alone an ice surface. Sorry Sean, but keep your head up.

What a horrific performance by the Flyers - I'm embarrassed.

At that specific practice? No. I?ve just watched and done that drill hundreds of times and know there should never be someone in your way. With enough repetition, you stop having keen awareness of the other half of the drill because you count on your teammates to not be complete idiots and take up 3/4 of the ice surface when they should be using less than half
