Great call. They are set up nicely for the future.

Crosby's getting all the attention for his hatter (and deservedly so) but Malkinator was more dominant last night IMO.

Dude was in beast mode, just taking over the game by himself for stretches. I bet he wins the Conn Smythe this year.

I hope you are wrong for us as NHL fans... The NHL wants parity among the league and having a 3-Peat winner does not scream parity... and with another CBA coming to an end... if this happens we will likely see another lockout..

3-Peat does not necessarily mean there isn't parity. I think the league is doing very well parity-wise. Each year there are at least 3-4 strong cup contenders and at the same time any number of other teams can upset.

It's not like the NBA where the regular season is a forgone conclusion.

His end-to-end goal last night, wowzers. Blows past Voracek with a shoulder fake really. The one defenseman just let him go to make it a 1-on-2 to a 1-on-1. Then tries the power move around him, realizes he won't and just snipes a beauty backhander.

That defenseman who just left the play will now realize you can't let a player have a little room in the playoffs.

Another lockout is coming regardless. Parity is bad for sports leagues, it's re-branded mediocrity.

    Game 2 Prediction:

Elliot comes to play... makes an early big save....makes a lot of big saves.

Game goes into overtime... 4-3 game.. I think Pitts takes a 2-0 lead though.

I watched Elliott and my Flames against the Ducks last year. I hope you're right, but I don't think you are. Elliott is a battler but he just seems to lose focus or trust in himself or something. But I can't see him standing up against the barrage the Pens can put on him.

I am a Flyers fan after my Flames and I think G, Jake, Couts and Ghost have more to give. The only problem is that the Pens have a playoff gear that they just can't match. I'll be watching, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would bet money we won't see a lock out. The CBA is set to end the same time Seattle is 'rumoured' to start season 1 as team 32. No one's going to pay $650 000 000 to let their product gather dust. 31 other owners will want to capitalize on that extra revenue as well. So will the players.

Oh I agree we will probably see a lockout... but I don't want to add another item to the agenda in 'parity'

If Pittsburgh wins the NHL will want to do something rediculous like your top player salary cap is between 9-10 million... but your 2nd highest paid player salary can only be 8-9 million and so forth...haha

I know it is rediculous... it is just an example.
