    Default Mike Green (rep)

    Second team in sig.

As you can see from the scoring system, D are pretty valuable in this league. Mike Green was just dropped and I hold the top waiver priority. Is it worth using my number 1 position to claim Mike Green? As much as D are valuable in this league, so is holding the top waiver position in a 16 team league. Going into next season we keep all 22 players, at the conclusion of next season keepers will be cut down to 16. My current D core is as follows... (points per game this season)

    Hedman (5.1)
    Ellis (4.3)
    Shattenkirk (3.7)
    Manson (3.3)
    Schmidt (3.3)
    Boychuk (3.3)
    Dermott (2.6)
    Honka (1.5)
    DeAngelo (2.6)
    Stralman (2.6)

    Mike Green (3.6)

Green will put up better numbers than the last few names but the age is the big difference there. What do you guys think?

I couldn't justify burning that pick on Green. I'd wait and hope for something better.

I don't think I would use up the #1 waiver choice on Mike Green.. He could be had in a trade for cheap if someone nabs him..

Waiver priority carries over to next year as well??

if so I keep the priority, but in the middle of the night when waivers have flared and I am up at 3 to take a leak or sooth my kid, I am picking him up as a free agent

Yes, waivers carry over because there won't be a draft next season as we are keeping all 22 to begin next season (new league that just recently drafted). Funny you mentioned trying to grab him after he clears in the middle of the night because I had the same idea (damn kids don't sleep through the night lately). Problem is we have 2 managers living in Australia and another 2 in Europe so that might not work for me. But thanks for all the input, I'll wait to see if he clears and try to snatch him up. Rep'd who I could, will come back and rep who I wasn't aloud to when I can. Thanks everyone.

Good luck man. Penguinhunter is right. You should stay up and try to pull the "burglary" as I call it, when you go late nite and poach an asset that has value when waivers clear. Maybe you'll get him for free

Thanks. I expect him to be claimed though. I'll find out early morning and report back.

This worked like a charm at 5:20 this morning. Got him for free!

Yeah I don't value Green much unless I can get him for free which is exactly what you did. Well done!
