Default Curious as to how Dobberites view these young forwards..

Hey guys, I'm new to posting on these forums but I've been a fairly avid follower of them recently.

I have some decisions to make as the end of the season approaches regarding my team which is very young as I'm in a rebuild. I'm in need of some feedback regarding ranking the following forwards. Points only, long term:

    Buchnevich
    Labanc
    Larkin
    Beauvillier
    Jost
    Puljujarvi
    Ho-Sang

and Kaprisov...will this guy ever come over or should I just grab a high 1st rounder for him in the 2019 draft?

    Any help is appreciated guys!

Projections below based on peak potential.

    Buchnevich 50-55
    Labanc 40-45
    Larkin 55-65
    Beauvillier 40-45
    Jost -50-60
    Puljujarvi 65-80
    Ho-Sang 50-55

I like Pulju the most, he has a great shot and will be used in a top 6 role with Edmonton for years to come.

Bump Larkin up by 5, Labanc up by 5, and Ho-Sang down by 10. Or at least that's my opinion.

He has the potential for more than. I have him pegged, but I just haven't liked what I have seen thus far in terms of effort, opportunity and whatever else. If he gets traded to a team with more opportunity for him, maybe that number changes. For now though, I'm not hugely optimistic with him.

I don't see him getting the ice time to be more than 45 points. Call it a lack of trust. And I think he will have a hard time shedding that image

Larkin sticks out to me as too low here. I think he's more likely a 65-70 point peak player. He's on pace for about 55 this year, I think, and the Red Wings are bad. While it's possible that he moves down the lineup and off the powerplay when the team imporves, I think it's more likely that he's part of a rising tide of production that boosts him above where he is.

Labanc at 22 is on a 45 point pace right now. So you think he's downhill from here?

Stuntman12's predictions look pretty good to me, although I think I'd give Puljujarvi a slight bump on the low end from 40 to 50.
I also agree with the fact that Ho-Sang's output depends greatly on the opportunity he gets and it may need to be with another team.

I like Stuntman's predictions myself. Anyone holding out hope that Pool Party can hit 80 I think will be disappointed. I'd be happy with a 70 point top out at this stage. I don't think he's the long term answer next to McDavid. (I'd expect more from Yammy).

Ho-Sang correction to 40-65 I also agree with. But that may depend on what the islanders look like next year.

And Kaprizov... temper expectations that he even comes over let alone doesn't pull a (what's his name again that was be all end all in Vegas?). I do not trust those KHL'ers.

So essentially what you're saying is that Kaprisov has a "chance" to be the best producer from this group provided he actually comes...Stashing him away seems like the move. I'd hate to see him put up numbers for another team in my pool after giving up on him.

I was fairly drunk when I made that post but looking back at this post I agree with it for the most part. I am very high on Kaprizov and am excited for the possibility for him coming over. I stashed him away in one of my pts leagues and am not going to let him go.

I traded away Kaprizov in a deal that landed me a lottery pick this year. I'm confident that - while Kaprizov *may* provide great value if he comes over - that my team is better served by getting a guy that'll help me within the next 2-3 years and not a maybe for 3+ years from now.

If I was running an NHL team, I'd for sure hang on to him. Fantasy? Let others chase the Russian maybes.
