I would go with the hot goalie on the hot team Mrazek!!
Concussion. Who knows how long he'll be out but it sounds significant.
I'm down to my last acquisition/move of the year. (Only 5 on the whole season. No Bench, No IR, no trades. This is it.)
Gotta get this right. Running in a close 2nd place right now.
(I also don't do fantasy playoffs or anything, just a straight run to the end of the regular season.)
Interesting options available..
Cory Schneider was dropped and is likely set to return Thurs or Fri. Will he come back strong? He had 7 straight L's before he got hurt.
Petr Mrazek just got a shutout last night against the Habs and has 3 W's in his first 3 games with the Flyers. Elliott and Neuvirth out for another month each probably. It's Mrazek's crease.
Philly is on fire, going 9-0-1 in their last 10. First in the metro division.
Looking at NJ, they're 5-5 in their last 10. They'll be trying to keep hold of the first wild card spot in the East.
In some ways Schneider is perhaps the safe, bigger name bet and Mrazek is the bigger swing for the rafters?
Also available are Howard, Halak, Varlamov, Ward.
Who would you guys go with?

Curious to know why it seems like DeSmith gets preference over Jarry last few games that MM has been out?

Well, honestly, I started this thread for *SPECIFIC FANTASY ADVICE* and I took great pains to be as specific as humanly possible setting up the parameters of what I was asking in order to get *useful fantasy advice* on this *fantasy hockey forum.* The thread also said "PLEASE HELP!!" Nowhere in my post did I mention Desmith or Jarry. And now the last two responses I've gotten have been regarding Desmith or Jarry, and the day is over, so I'd pretty much consider this thread, for its original intent, derailed.
I've always valued the useful insight I get from members on these boards and have employed it frequently to win fantasy championships from year to year. I've also come on many times over the years to express my gratitude for the thoughtful insight offered along the way and how I know I wouldn't do so well as I frequently do without it. So forgive me for attempting to gracefully get the conversation back to where it began, (if you read my post rather than just the title.)

Based on recent history it would seem Jarry would be the one to own but DeSmith does have slightly better stats. Now I'm pondering too as DeSmith is still available in my league ...

As another Murray owner along with band-aid Gibson, I jumped on the chance to pick up Mrazek. If Schneider had been available in our league he would have been my first choice .

You guys are all awesome for weighing in - thanks so much.
Down to a couple thoughts before I make a decision prior to the games tonight...
NJ appears to have a tougher strength of schedule the rest of the way, which is making me lean towards Mrazek. Schneider's gonna have a tough lineup of games coming back from injury.
Just curious, when Elliott comes back, which is expected to be in about 3 weeks, with 2 weeks remaining in the season. Do you see Elliott getting the crease back? Will they split? Or will Mrazek have proved himself well enough to be given the reigns headed towards the postseason. Guess it depends on whether he can keep up his great play and keep getting the wins. So far, 3 games, 3 wins, 1 shutout.
I also read something today that PHI said they may even play Mrazek in both games of back to backs coming up, which would really help for extra W possibilities.
Any further thoughts? Thanks so much y'all
