Barkov+Werenski for Matthews

Barkov + Werenski
for
Matthews.

While I really like both players I think that Matthews is a "safer" bet compared to both Barkov (comparable to Matthews when healthy, but injury-prone) and Werenski (sophomore slump?). Although, with both Trouba and Weber on IR, I could really use an extra defenseman who's also a great keeper. Was thinking of counter with

Barkov+Werenski+McAvoy
for
Matthews+Theodore

While Theodore is the PP1-defensemen of Vegas, I believe McAvoy eventually will become a better multi cat player.

What's your opinion on those two deals? Even, or is Matthews to valuable? In both cases I would probably drop Crawford who may not play more this year.

I don't think it's a bad offer at all for Matthews to be honest, but I don't think this is a deal you need to make. Your D looks rock solid already, even in a start 6D. Hell, I don't see a lot of holes in your entire roster. I'd keep Matthews here. Not because of the offer, simply because you don't need to make this move.

I would stand pat. As axe mentioned you don't need the d upgrade and I prefer Matthews over Barkov long term.

Thanks for feedback! Perhaps I should just let it go. Although, would it be an accept for you if i got an offense upgrade? I'm thinking like Barkov+Werenski/McAvoy+Boeser for Matthews+Connor? I have three Winnipeg players so to get rid of one wouldn't hurt.

I almost did Barkov & DeBrusk to get Matthews last night... OGM got cold feet... I like Werenski more than DeBrusk

Its hard to move a all star young player. I don't know if many deals make sense to trade Matthews without being crazy lopsided
