    Default Huberdeau or Ehlers

I had a thread on here early about my keepers and it seemed to be a mix response on these two. So I was wondering who would you keep out of Huberdeau and Ehlers? I?m very torn on who to keep. Thanks guys

As much as I like Ehlers I have to give it to Huberdeau. He's the undisputed best LW in Florida, gets heavy usage, and plays prime PP1 minutes on a very strong Panthers power play. Plus he was a 3rd overall pick and offensive star in junior which tends to translate very well to NHL scoring ability.

Where Ehlers ends up depends a lot on his usage, and right now that's PP2 and third line minutes. The hope is he someday lands on the top line with Schiefele but with the Jets being so deep and having good options on both wings it's hard to say when he'll see that kind of usage. Laine is ahead of him right now and will most likely keep his spot on PP1 for the foreseeable future.

Skill wise maybe Ehlers is the better player, he's certainly faster, but Huberdeau has a gravy situation in Florida and until Ehlers sees similar deployment I can't recommend him over Hubie.

Yep Huberdeau for me too...for now. Can't really ask for better usage fantasy-wise.

Wow, so random was just having a dilemna between these two in terms of long term keepers.

Ehlers is a concerning situation, he has 1st line skill, but doesnt mesh with Laine on ice at all and has only been given 12-14 mins per game, last year he was amazing with Schiefele and Wheeler. Maurice has done alot of things right this season but helping Ehlers improve his offensive game has not been one of them, hopefully moving forward Ehlers will be given more of a leash offensively, but it is definitely concerning with all the surplus of offensive talent. My best case scenario for him is that he gets traded to a team that will give Winnipeg a good piece for a run this year or next since his cap is like 4M ish.

Huberdeau I like alot as well, however since he was moved off Barkovs line at ES a few weeks ago he has slowed down somewhat, on top of that Florida as a team has gone on a hot streak since he was split to the 2nd line. This usually means that the lines will stay split until Florida cools off.

Right now and next season I go Huberdeau, maybe sell high on him if he keeps going Ppg next year as I just cant see the Panthers succeed long term, hopefully Ehlers will be better eventually as he certainly has the skillset!

If Ehlers had huberdeau's opportunity (PP1 and 20 min per game on top line) id take him. But he doesn't and that's not changing anytime soon so it's Hubs for me as well.

Ehlers for me. I go with the guy with most skill. He can't be held back forever, just too good.

he is still young and most teams change their combinations year to year...ROS, i think Hub will out play him do to situation but Ehlers talent will take over at some point...
