Easy call: Wheeler
At least a tier above Panarin
Hi All,
Hoping to get some thoughts on the following...
Points only keeper league, I am currently in first place by a large margin with head-to-head playoffs starting in a couple weeks. I also have the strongest team in my league and will likely contend for a couple more years.
One of the managers in my league (who is missing the playoffs and trying to get younger) has Wheeler, who I've been bugging him about for weeks with no luck... but he recently suggested he would give me Wheeler for Panarin straight up. He's big on Panarin... I could probably even squeeze a pick along with Wheeler for my Panarin.
Dobber has Wheeler at 10 overall, and Panarin at 44... and I feel fairly similar.
Just wondering if anyone is concerned that Wheeler is going to fall off in the next season or 2, or can we expect similar numbers with an exciting Jets team?
Thanks!
12 team keeper, points only (1pt goal and 1pt assist, 2pts for W, 3pts for SO). Keep 12 players every year.

I think it's safe to say Wheeler is a big part of Winnipeg's offensive punch. Considering he's seemingly getting better with age, I think he'll be consistently productive at least into his mid to late 30's (much like Joe Thornton has been). It helps that he's more of a set-up guy and when the jets younger players enter their prime it will only help him more. He also is a strong skater so you shouldn't have to worry about the game becoming to fast for him.

As much as I like Wheeler I'm not sure I make this deal just because of their ages.. Wheeler has one year left on his deal and will be 32 years old this summer, while Panarin will be 27..
Maurice did say last night that "Blake is going to play until he's 40".. HaHa..
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
I'd also go with Wheeler here. He has enough youth around him to keep him relevant for years.

Wheeler. Especially for a win-now team.
Wheeler for now and the near future, so do it.

Yea that one is obvious for me. Wheeler. He's the most underrated player in the league. Always 70 points and very good multi cat stats. He's the Rodney dangerfield of fantasy hockey. NO RESPECT.

I prefer Wheeler here. Now if Breadman had Kaner by his side then it might be a different story, but not in CBJ.
