You need to dangle picks and prospects if he’s rebuilding or I’d think start with FF/Hall + a sweetener. Kane is >> them but his hit brings that down to a half/full >

Not enough if I own Kane. I'd only consider quality with cap coming back or great young talent with a big cap win for me. Otherwise I just hold Kane over a bunch of mediocre players and no cap improvement.

Here is my general rule of thumb: if you need to add a bunch of explanations for why the trade is good or fair, there's a very high chance that the trade is neither good nor fair. Your offer for Kane isn't close. Even in a cap league, people don't trade elite producers for a collection of ok'ish pieces.

I added some serious business to it. I think we got it done- Ill post when I have confirmation. ive never owned Kane- I ended up paying a pretty significant sum- so Im curious how he performs. For everyone posting- please note this is a salary cap league. Kanes salary doesn't disregard himas an asset but it DOES impact it. We do 105 for a 27 man roster so cap space is a serious issue with any contending team. Im not saying you pass on Kane because of this (I likely just added him :P)- but it does affect his value. Ive got raises coming next year that I have to be very creative with all of a sudden. Im hoping for a ppg with sogs per game the way...
