2018 Dobber MLB Wins Pool

Cleveland 101 - there was 3 teams I pegged as teams with 100 win potential this year. And then we got draft order and I was third. The three teams were Houston, Cleveland, Dodgers. Cleveland stood out to me because they have 3 teams rebuilding in their division. After Houston went I was hoping that Cleveland would be available. And they were.

Atlanta 80 - 4 teams I had targeted here were Mariners, Rangers, Mets and Braves. Mariners were gone well before my pick. The other three were available with one pick to go. The Mets went and I was so happy cause I didn’t want to have yo pick the division rival. So I went with my braves. A healthy Freeman all year, a bounce back fromTeheran and some decent starts from McCarthy and the Marlins Fire sale should allow the braves to improve by 8 wins this year to get 80.

Baltimore 75 - I did not expect the Orioles to be available here. I thought the bottom three were going to be Miami, Detroit and _______ (another team). I actually had Orioles as the 6th worst team so I was glad to see them available in the bottom three.

I would think its enough to compete.. Now you need Atlanta to win 80 games and Baltimore to win 75..

I actually think Houston is the only 100 win team in 2018!!

Who was the other team you thought would be in the bottom 3?? I was thinking the Reds or Padres..

Last year, the top 3 had 269, 253 and 248 wins.

Yankees - 96-98 wins

Giants 80-82 wins

Kansas City - 73-75 wins

Best case, 255 wins.

Seattle 84
Pittsburgh 75

Total = 254

Total: 257 at the most

I actually really like the Padres. I think in a weaker division they could win 85 games. Just unlikely when they will have such a tough schedule.

Especially with Houston there. But Texas and Seattle aren't exactly world beaters. Could pay off.
