anyone who smartly invests in Nash has to know they are not getting a premier scorer at this age, they're getting a SOLID depth scorer who plays very effective defense in all three zones and hustles. If he is not being relied upon for the offense primarily which should be far from the case on any contending squad, then he'd serve as an ample addition to the squad. But if said team acquires and expects first line production yes they will be in for rude awakening.

Does anyone remember what Ryan Reaves went for just before last years draft? A 1st round pick and Oskar Sundqvist for those that do not remember. Looks familiar to NY's asking price for Nash.

Does anyone disagree that Nash is worth more than Ryan Reaves? I don't think NY is out of line at all in their asking price, especially if they retain salary. Who knows I guess.

Indeed, Nash skates very well and is still quite fast actually. He also goes to the dirty areas, gets deflections and rebounds.

I've seen the majority of his games over the last season or three and can tell you that he is often the most effective overall forward. Backchecks as well as working the corners.

Is he the 2nd coming ? hardly.

But he has finals experience, is a good team guy and has earned respect around the league for his well earned reputation as a guy who is tough but fair.

Just a 6'4" 215 pound forward who plays a 200 foot game.

I think NHL teams can do far worse than grabbing this guy.

Gorton and NYR fans are hoping its for a hoard of treasure.

We will see what the price is in actuality fairly soon.

I trust management and coaches from the teams that he has played for that have made him a leader on their teams.

I know the Rangers will probably get what they want when it comes trading Rick Nash.. I just feel the team acquiring him is going to be disappointed.. But aren't most teams disappointed when it comes to trading for rentals??
