2018 DobberBaseball League

Nothing significant.

- We started up the league to get things on yahoo!
- The wavier was set to a day or two, but we all agreed to no moves until we heard from you
- Waiver passed, someone made moves, we reversed them
- We heard from you to keep things moving
- We tried to put everyone back on waivers, but apparently you can't
- So it was a free for all at 5 pm on whatever night

And that's that.

I'll also add in that I did not word the update correctly. I just said something like waivers will start at 5pm....what i meannnnnnnnt was that everyone would just be available to make moves. It was my mistake and by the time we realized there was a problem about 10 moves had been made.

Anyways ya....there is no way to re-add players to waivers AFTER the commish says "BEGIN LEAGUE" and then they original set waiver time is passed.

Ya it likely won't happen until Thursday. Which is weird though because guys like Britton are already on the DL! Whereas Jimmy Nelson isn't.

Players on the DL have to make MLB salaries I think. Maybe guys who are DTD are actually contractually listed as a minor player so they make less? But some teams just don't care and give their stars the money?

It's all about dollars I bet.

Have you guys noticed the Ratings and Levels icon on the League page?? Yahoo now has a ranking system based on how good you are at H2H. Below is the blurb from Yahoo....Duster Dave is Diamond. WOW.

League Levels are based on the overall average rating of all the managers in that specific Head-to-Head League. League Levels update as individual ratings update (Monday for Fantasy Baseball and Basketball; Tuesday for Fantasy Football) and be final at the end of the season.

The purpose of League Levels is to give you a better understanding of the competition level in your league. They appear on your League Standings page the day after your league completes its draft. The higher the level, the more intense the competition. You'll find a ribbon around your league icon depicting the level of your league:

Diamond - 900+ Rating and 99th Percentile
Platinum - 800-899 and 95th-98th Percentiles
Gold - 700-799 and 81st-94th Percentiles
Silver - 600-699 and 60th-80th Percentiles
Bronze - 0-599 and 0-59th Percentiles

Like what if GM A is in a league with 20 teams and 19 teams stop participating and GM A wins the league without any knowledge or trying. Then there's GM B who's in a league of 10 and all are Rotoworld writers who are insanely knowledgeable and intense and finishes 3rd. I'd say GM B is better but does this algorithm think GM A is better?

Not really sure how in depth it gets. Looking at my home town league where I'm in a few leagues with the majority of members it seems pretty accurate as to who is good and who is crap haha. But ya I'm not sure if it takes into consideration the competition.

like my league could be terrible and yours could be insane and you'd be a Diamond in my league. Always cool seeing this stuff tho. It's like Draft Grades and such.

I think you have to have a certain number of leagues under your belt to be ranked higher.

Also leagues with less than 6 teams aren't counted I would believe.

I'm just curious in this:
Me in league 1 finishes 4th, everyone in that league is insane but we all score bronze/silver because we end up being so close every yr.
Me in league 2 finishes 1st. Everyone in that league is average.

Do my wins in League 1 count as more than League 2 even though I'm still beating Bronze levels? That's my question.

I actually don't see any rankings on the baseball pages, only a History icon and then the information letting you know how the levels are ranked.

Go to the league main page, then go to the standings section (this is all on the desktop) and there's options for Standings and Schedule, beside Schedule is this Rankings thing.
