I'd say it's down to Kraken vs. Sockeyes.

The lady that writes the fiction with the Seattle "Sockeyes" tweeted 12hrs ago "Who's waiting for 9am tomorrow when @NHL Seattle_ reveals the team name?"
Then, just an hour ago she retweeted a Washington State DOT tweet that included "...OK, let's get Kraken. #NHLSeattle".

Kind of interesting.
Is she invested because she knows she will gain traction and gave her OK on the trademarking of the Seattle Sockeyes?
Or... why would she retweet the "Kraken" tweet? Intentional misdirection? Or hint that it won't be her beloved Sockeyes... and she's jaded and wants to ruin it?

The Totems and Sockeye were in the top two according to some survey the city undertook. I'm guessing with the video leak yesterday of the fisherman and his family, sockeyes would be the name. I guess Kraken can be associated too....

This would be very impressive guessing as I don't think the Sirens were one of the names originally registered trademarks for.

I was thinking this as well... that it is likely Sockeyes because of the fisherman video... but then I was thinking... maybe they catch the Kraken.

I am also thinking that Totems is eliminated because of the recent controversy over sports team names. Too risky to pick that and then have to change it in short order.
