I think the following are big buyers at the deadline:
Leafs with 3.7 mil of capspace - (will have to do some moving around to fit Max)
Lightning with 6 mil
Nashville with 9.7 mil
CBJ: 15 mil
Winnipeg with 18.6
I'm thinking Winnipeg or CBJ. Nashville could also lure him with a big enough salary, and they don't have the offensive firepower of other playoff teams like Toronto or Tampa.

Would Patches not be a good fit with Pitt? Come a lot cheaper than E.Kane

No doubt Winnipeg will make moves (minor or major) - only question is: is Max Pac worth it? I would say no- they won't target Kane either- even though he's been there before. I don't think GM will want to bring him back. WJets will likely target a cheap veteran like Vanek or maybe Sedins. That kind of experience and leadership are better for a plyaoff run than potneital drama in locker room with Kane. Team cohesiveness underrated in fantasy.

For anyone who thinks they can Retro activate him to LTIR (he makes the criteria of 24days or 10games missed).
Cap hit: 69.4mill
Cap space: 75mill
Cap space: 5.6mill
Scheifele Cap hit: 6.125mill
“Quick way to learn New Cap Limit” = (LTIR Players Cap Hit – Cap space) + Upper Limit
X = (6.125-5.6mill)+75mill
X=75.525mill
If they LTIR Schiefele they get a whopping 0.525mill extra to their cap. Then there’s a whole thing about when Schief comes back he actually counts towards the end cap hit, so the new player + Scheif would make everything off, and it’s too early for me to get fully into it
---EDIT---
I figured a way to explain it. Once Scheif comes back, the "Upper Limit" of the cap goes back to 75mill. So, teams who exploit this LTIR to gain more cap room put players on LTIR for the rest of the season. So when the player comes back, it's playoffs and caps don't matter. AKA P.Kane.

There is a rumor of a Pacioretty vs. McDonaugh trade.
If that's the case, Bergevin should be fire right away.
This team needs to rebuild. No good prospects...

Yeah not sure I like that idea. Any source for this rumor?

I don't know if it's a rumor or speculation but it's been talked a lot on Montreal radio stations lately.
