Boeser Love Thread

Can we get some Boeser love? Doesn't miss a game, and scores 2 pts in his first game back, plus had lots of other chances.

18 G, 14 A, 15 PPP in 32 GP.

I realize the Canucks lost, but he's money most nights, and the team is severely shorthanded.

This won't be a MacKinnon situation, where he has a great rookie year, then struggles for a few year eh?

I mean he's a bit older than MacK was as a rookie, so that could make a difference. He has such a sick release already.

He's my rookie guy I drafted this year, so given I'll already have 4 contracts going into next year (at least at this point), I won't be able to sign him to 4 years, but after next season, I can sign him to max 2 yr contract.

I could still move and shuffle with my keepers: ie: Benn, Wheeler, Boeser and Hall, and find another rookie to carry-over/trade patches, but I think I'll sacrifice 1 year with BB, and have 4 keepers + best rookie possible to go into next year. It's still early, but it's nice in my format being able to carry a rookie over (so a 5th guy basically), and then decide on a contract after that.

My league is goal heavy, so I think Benn, Wheeler, Patches or Guentzel, Hall and Boeser is a good group. I'll move 1 of Guentzel and Patches (whoever garners best return), and sign the other guy to 2. Patches is a 2 right now, but I got him via a trade so I can top him up to an open slot going into next season. Guentzel has no contract, so if I move Patches I can sign Guentzel.

Will just have to see how the rest of the year goes!

When he gets knocked from a game early due to injury, and then gomes back to play in the team's next game. I admit the OP's phrasing isn't the clearest, but that's what happened.

Is he the type of guy where it wouldn't be unrealistic to see him not have a sophomore slump? I mean he's got such a sick release, and he's been super consistent.

I signed MacK to a 4 year contract after his rookie season (back before we had a rookie slot), and I traded him last year (it did help me finish in the money), but now he's a stud all this time later.

You do man bro! I've gotten somewhat lucky with my rookie picks lately. Domi (carried over but didn't keep), Aho (carried over but traded) and now Boeser (probably best pick yet).

Regarding non-rookie, I drafted Kuzy the year he got 77 pts

But do we still have his ceiling as similar to before? I remember in another thread, someone was saying he'll be a 30-35 goal, 60 + guy year in and year out. Goals are great in my league, that's why I have mixed up my team!
