    Default Rasmus Ristolainen

Risto is off to a slow start offensively despite logging tons of minutes. He's currently pacing for less than 30 points after scoring 45 last year. Housley's style seems to suit defensemen who join the rush and go on the offense so Risto should be playing into that more than he seems to be.

Any other Risto owners trying to figure out what this guy is exactly? He's a bit of an enigma sometimes to say the least.

Seeing as you are In my league....perhaps those guys should just stay cool...

Risto was far too lucky and had too many PP points last year to make his production sustainable. He was bound to disappoint. And here we are. 30-35pts seems about right. He's not a possession driver and has never been that dynamic a player.

The whole team has been dissappointing. Although they are ahead of Edmonton. What?? Arizona is the only team worse than Buffalo and Edmonton. Are they going 1-2 again in next years draft? LOL

I've got Risto and Klefbom, and I'm being patient with both. Regardless if whether Risto will match last year's output, he's a quality fantasy defenseman.
    H2H 14 team, 19-man roster, limited keeper (draft round matters). G / A / P / PPP / PIM / FW / BS // W / SV / GAA. My greatest wish: that Yahoo would offer DEF as a category.

Meh. Risto will be fine. Even if he only puts up 40-45 points this year he will still crush in multi-cat leagues.

PP time %s down despite being up on overall ice time - it feels like the biggest impact on his offence right now (though wouldn’t mind seeing his scoring rates at 5 on 5 when he is in also)

Just looking at stats on Hockey Reference, looks like he's done better overall on his game. So my guess is his game won't change, but he'll get points eventually. He gets 3pts in his next game and he's then on pace to out point last yr.

You're probably right. Although, they have been saying that in Colorado for over a year.

Great article posted today on buy low by Chris Liggio of the Frozen pool forensics

    ''Rasmus Ristolainen

The defenseman is certainly receiving some menacing looks from his owners for his slow start. Overall the Sabres have come out of the gate lethargically but at some point the tide has to turn. Possessing the best power play unit last season, the results are bound to improve and Ristolainen will be a focal point in doing so. A phenomenal power play quarterback he is one of the rare defenders last season to post 150 plus hits, shots and blocks. In multi-category leagues he is an absolute gold mine and any trepidation of decreased ice time this year has been nullified as he is logging the heavy minutes we’ve become accustomed to. No other player on Buffalo’s blueline compares to Ristolainen so he is in no danger of losing said minutes either. Boasting the best CF% of his career through 12 games and seeing just under four minutes per game on the power play on average, the chances are strong he will start generating more point production. Do not expect 50 points this season but he is more than capable of getting hot and returning to the 40-point plateau with excellent peripherals by season’s end''
