Tavares vs. Seguin

My Seguin. He needs 1 more year of cheapish salary and is willing to add to Tavares "something small"
Seguin (25yo) has 2yrs @ $5.75 then UFA
Tavares (26yo) has 1yr @ $5.5 then UFA

In the 1st league. They are very close in terms of FP. Seguin last 3 years -- 2869, 2764, 2637. Tavares last 3 years -- 3235, 2680, 2589

So he wants you to give up the better fantasy asset for your league, and he wants the extra year of cheaper salary, and is only willing to add "something small"?

Next year, Tavares' salary is going to damn near double. To me, if you are taking that on instead of one more year of Seguin at $5.75M, I'd want something more than "something small". Tell him to enjoy his last year owning Tavares and keep Seguin if he's only willing to add "something small". Why do him the favor of giving him the better player who will be cheaper in a year?

I get that it's a very deep league and if a quality prospect produces on their ELC it's huge but that offer is still borderline insulting.

Still a no thanks from me. As you said in your original post, he was willing to add "something small" to Tavares and this is pretty much what he added; something small. He did exactly what he said he was going to do.
