Sure thing. I strongly recommend doing the research and then acting according to your own best judgement once you feel sufficiently informed, whether that means buying bitcoin or not.
I'd start off by reading a handful of books that can help you learn about the history of money, the fatal flaws of fiat systems throughout history, and why bitcoin is the best monetary good that humans have ever discovered:
The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous
Layered Money by Nik Bhatia
The Bullish Case on Bitcoin by Vijay Boyapati
21 Lessons: What I learned from Falling Down The Bitcoin Rabbit Hole
Inventing Bitcoin by Yan Pritzker
Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos
This thread has about 1000 hours worth of great info:

Also, pretty much anything on the podcast "Bitcoin Audible". In particular anything by Parker Lewis or Der Gigi.
Good luck finding any bagholders of any other cryptos besides bitcoin who will tell you not to buy any until you do exhaustive due diligence first and then point you to thousands of hours of resources.
For that matter, good luck even finding dozens (much less thousands) of hours worth of meaningful resources on any crypto besides bitcoin.
That is certainly possible. Each time that I have requested a list of books, articles and podcast episodes discussing the investment thesis, a breakdown of the total addressable market, and an explanation of the game theory behind Ethereum from any particular Ethereum bull I have always gotten *crickets* in response. I'm the type of guy who likes to spend 100 hours learning every aspect of something and understanding it deeply, so if you can be the one who is finally able to provide this roadmap for me I would greatly appreciate it. I am totally open to becoming an Ethereum bull if anyone can manage to help me find enough quality material that can convince me of the thesis.
Thanks! One thing I did listen to was "The Bull Case for Ethereum" (ep 44) on the Bankless podcast a little while back. The thesis they laid out wasn't super compelling to me, but I will try listening to parts II (ep 71) and III (ep 97) in the meantime to see if those resonate more.
Edit: looks like I listened to Part II as well, actually. Will start Part III right now.
I don't understand the Bitcoin vs Ethereum debate.
Why can't it be Bitcoin and Ethereum?!
