I am not overly high on either kid but I would probably go with Barzal here.

Barzal has an individual higher ceiling, although McLeod may have a higher floor. Both teams have revolving doors for their top 6, but I think NYI has better quality of players to play with than NJ.

I think this is the 3rd time I'm posting this today - I don't trust the Islanders for anything!
At the same time, Barzal is much more highly regarded than McLeod, so I'd get Barzal and then swap him for McLeod+. McLeod is majorly underrated.
