2018 seems to be a real good draft for the top3/5.

Just have to echo what others have said about keeping Tavares unless you have some very specific league setting issues that demand it.
2018 is going to be a super fun draft. Dahlin in particular is going to be amazing.

If you can get a top-2 pick in 2018, then that's great. Otherwise I doubt it's going to be a special year or even all that much better than 2017.

I can't see why you would trade Tavares for picks.
BTW, this year is not "underwhelming".
There is some pretty solid talent throughout the first round...very much like a "normal" draft.
Next year will be another "normal" draft.
A "normal" draft does not contain the likes of a McDavid, Eichel, Matthews or Laine.
