I agree with this. I also think Kane has another level that Kuch (while awesome) doesn't have. Keep Kane.

This will be a fun OR heartbreaking thread to check up on in the future. I did the trade! I've got young keepers like Eichel, Scheifele and Seguin, so this helps keep my core from aging. Plus I traded for so many high picks this year and next, so that should help me in the meantime while Kane is potentially still better than Kuch. Now I just gotta hope he doesn't go to the K in 3 years, haha.

Always find it kind of amusing when people come on and ask if they should do something, get a consensus or near consensus "no", and then do it anyways. Seems like that might happen in the Letang trade thread going on right now too. Ultimately you gotta go with your gut, but what is the point in asking first if you can't be persuaded otherwise anyways? Might as well just do the trade and post about it afterwards in that case.

Haha, I totally agree! Like I mentioned earlier, I started the thread when I was undecided, but as I responded I started to realize I'd already decided what I want to do. It'll be an interesting one to watch.

Personally, Kane by a mile. As good as Kucherov may be, he has a long way to go before hitting 90+ points with any consistency (if at all). I am sorry to hear you pulled the trigger, but at least you are getting a 75 pointer (with potential for more) in return.

Yeah, I know the usual good idea to think more than a couple years ahead in trades, but that's what I did here. I wanted to trade Kane while he was still top value. Probably gave up on him a bit too early, but now I've got Kuch for ages and I think that'll be pretty solid.

IMO, you gave up too early and didn't get enough considering you are selling him while he's still at the top of his game. Jusy my $0.02

In the end, all we can do is offer opinion and you have to do what YOU think is best for your team. We are just a sounding board.

I just checked Dobber's Top 300, and I traded the list's #3 keeper for the #4 keeper. I still agree with you all that Kane is better right now, but I'm thinking it was worth the drop to get a guy 6 years younger. Thanks for all the input though! I *ALMOST* always listen to what you guys tell me, haha.

Actually, I just noticed that I now have 4 of the top 8 keepers on the list, and my other 2 are Karlsson and Benn. Not too shabby!
