Shiat. Sorry fella. I take some blame for that for publicly showing support for the Sens.

It's a weird pool because the Sens were mostly left untouched and everyone took major damage after the first round. I'm strongest on NSH (Subban/Arvidsson/Neal) and the three guys ahead of me have Pens players on their team. Had the Sens advanced the three teams ahead of me would have nobody left and I'd be 11 points back.

Well that's a brutal call on Phaneuf which leads to the go ahead goal late in period 3 of game 7. I was glad that the Sens tied it up after that shamefulness.

No question. It's an interesting situation. I imagine that reffing in the NFL has to be incredibly different than NHL reffing. However, the refs in the NFL always seem to be consistent. Pass interference is ALWAYS pass interference. It doesn't matter whether or not it's a pre season game or the Super Bowl, or what the score is.

It makes me wonder how different the NHL would be, if the refs consistently called the same penalties, regardless of the score, or how important the game is. Yes, you would get playoff overtime games ending with power play goals that wouldn't normally be called in that situation, but at least the line between what IS a penalty, and what IS NOT a penalty, wouldn't be so blurry. I also think it would add a level of integrity that currently exists regarding NFL officiating, but doesn't with NHL refs.

You're overselling the consistency of NFL reffing a lot. See: the not called pass interference by Richard Sherman on Julio when the Falcons lost to the Seahawks in the final 2 minutes of the game last season

It's not really breaking superstition. Crosby didn't pick it up on 2008 and the Pens lost. He has picked it up in 2009 and 2016 and they did win the cup. They've kinda already "disproved" the superstition. And it's a dumb superstition.
