It's about time!! Some people look for those and get them at a bargain, but I'm more concerned for the honest buyer that pays top dollar and ends up with a fake without even knowing it.

    Thanks for sharing Axe!

This is so sad. The fake jerseys make for a great "I Spy" game during the intermission at the Saddledome. Those maroon jerseys stick out like a sore thumb among the real flames jerseys.

That's too bad. I like people being able to get cheap knock-off jerseys.

You really think shutting down some websites is going to stop the flow of knock off jerseys? Really?

As the article states, it costs less than $16 to make a fake Jersey in China.

Shutting these sites down will just be a game of whack-a-mole...

For those that aren't against buying knockoff jerseys, I am sure they are hoping you are right.

I'm not saying it's right but look at movie streaming site... as soon as they get locked down the exact same one opens just with a different domain name.... in an idea, world this solves it but realistically it won't. The only way to stop it is to make game ready jerseys cheaper or cheap enough that buying a knock off for a small saving makes little sense, and that won't happen either

It's a big win for the big-4 leagues but at the same time it's killing a mole hill when the problem is a mountain. If the big-4 leagues can prevent the "legitimate sites" (alibaba and aliexpress) from selling the knockoffs this may help a little bit because those sites lend some credibility to buyers relative to the alternatives. That being said until the Chinese (and Russian) governments at least pretend to care about the problem this will be a minor inconvenience at best, it may increase prices a few bucks but the ability to make the supply jerseys will cheap will continue to exist.

The one interesting thing I learned in the article was this:
"The leagues don’t pay for the investigations. It’s all done on contingency," he said. "Sometimes the PayPal and Amazon accounts they seize have a few hundred dollars in them, and sometimes there’s $30,000 or $40,000 sitting there. It’s still valuable enough for the law firms that they take on the cost of the investigations and prosecutions."

I bet you I can find, order and have a fake jersey delivered to me in a month.

This definitely won't solve the problem.

It's a nice win for the NHL but this does very little in the big picture. This stuff never ends.

    Agreed, this does nothing lol

Aliexpress was supposed to stop selling Nike shoes years ago as well (as well as thousands of other things, I am sure).
Within a day or two of buying shoes from one store on ali, the shop is shutdown and created under a totally different name.
The place I get jerseys from just uses a different domain extension every couple of months as well to stay out of trouble.

If the NHL sold jerseys at $100, that would lower the fake Jersey market more than this.
