In a points only keeper league, who wins this deal?

Tarasenko will win this year and probably next, but I would give the edge to Laine overall for the long-term because he is only 18 years old. Monstrously high upside for the Finn.

This is kinda like trading Tarasenko for his younger self, heh... Laine's better than people expected. He's going to push 50g every year.

If I'm contending right now, I'm keeping Tank. If not, then I want Laine.

I prefer Tarasenko. He's only 25 years old, so I am not concerned about age. I know exactly what I am getting from him, and he is even bringing that up another level this year!

Laine, yes, is electric and should be great. Will his greatness be significantly better than Tarasenko's? I don't know. So, for that reason, I want the sure thing: Tarasenko.

This reminds me of a trade in my league several years back. That trade was:

    Patrick Kane

    for

    1st overall

That first overall pick was Yakupov.

Keep the 25 year old PPG player. You're hoping that Laine becomes what Tarasenko already is.

Good compare. I own Laine and wouldn't trade him for Tank. Not sure I'd trade Tank for Laine if roles reversed.

I think I keep the player I have and avoid the "man...sure do regret that trade" scenario. Far worse to regret making a trade than it is looking back on a trade you coulda woulda shoulda done.
