Jake Allen and john Gibson really frustrating me

I liked these two young goalies this year, mainly because their teams are supposed to have a great defence and allow a small amount of goals but every week these guys have at least one terrible game of 5 goals or more allowed.

I am getting the Madness fever and want to trade them. They are both my goalies in a dynasty league and I know I shouldn't . Is anybody else feeling the frustration with any of these goalies? Misery loves company.

There should be a Jake Allen and / or john Gibson owner support group.

Allen never seized the net when he had a chance to do so in St. Louis. His defenders would say it was because he was always looking over his shoulder and playing scared to lose the job. What's the excuse now. St. Louis has Cup aspirations. They can't win the Cup if Allen can't win on the road.

The owner in my league tied for first with me has them both. Is it you! lol

They are both young goalies with good GAA, and roughly average numbers elsewhere over their short careers, with Gibson showing as better than Allen.

The defensive systems drive GAA down, but don't necessarily help in other areas, especially rate stats. Allen is belwo average at generating quality starts over his career, so that would definitely cause an issue with him blowing up your numbers.

Hey even when I try and fix it by dressing Bishop and Johnson I actually make them worse! In my main league having Halak, Bishop and Allen with Johnson and Pickard on the farm has just about been serviceable but that wasn't my opinion in the Summer when that was my stable lol

GAA is a rate stat. Allen's SV% sucks this year and his GAA is fair to middling. I too am thinking about trading Allen. Or just starting him at home. He's on a short leash with me and probably should be with everyone else as well...

So you feel these are still 2nd tier goalies and their play will improve? The wins are there for Allen but his GAA and SV% are what is keeping me out of first right now.

How are guys like Bishop, Schneider and Lundqvist doing relative to expectations? Lots of hockey to be played. I don't think Allen and Gibson are .920 goalies just yet but they'll improve on their current numbers.

Yes but I have a much larger sample size on those guys - they are a proven commodity. Allen and Gibson are not yet - both are in their first true starting gigs. That's what concerns me.

The two combined have over 200 games of NHL experience and both are well under their career save percentage numbers. I have faith in them improving. If you don't then go ahead and sell low.

Would getting Schneider for Allen be a sell low (or a double sell low - not sure what that means)? I might be able to pull that off. I'm certainly not a knee jerk trade maker. I'm glad you think they will be better. Let's see how tonight's start at home against the Devils goes...

If you can actually pull that off then do it. That's not selling low.

you know Jake Allen is tied for 5th in the NHL with 14W... only trailing, Price, Bob, Rask & Jones... so he hasn't been downright awful to date. His GAA, SVPct could be better, but they should correct themselves over the course of the season.

Ok - I'll give it a shot. The Schneider owner happens to be a Blues fan so fingers crossed...guess that would mean he's selling low eh?
