Which young trio do you like better from a hockey perspective?

Ouch that's a tough one.

for fantasy I probably go -

Scheifele > Matthews
ehlers - nylander
laine - Marner

though if I'm looking for more points and assists over goals I'd probably switch Marner and Laine.

I'll be really surprised if you get a concensus here

Not really a fair fight since Scheifele has 4 years on the Leafs youngsters. I think Matthews will eventually surpass him.

I like Marner and Nylander both more than Ehlers.

I think Laine will end up the biggest star of them all.

Very interested to see what you guys have to say about that... I own half of these young stars
It's so hard to predict that early in their careers... but from a fantasy standpoint my hunch is that Laine and Marner will be the more explosive players.

This won't be popular, but the Leafs will probably be thrilled if Matthews ends up being what Scheifele is. And that's not a shot at Matthews - I think Scheifele is a legitimate, difference-making #1 all-around centre. The difference, as mentioned above, is he's older than the rest of the guys. Matthews can, and probably will, get there quicker. And the upside is probably a bit higher/better too

Laine will be the best of the next bunch. As good as Marner has been (and I was wrong on him this summer, thought he might need more seasoning, or might struggle more), Laine has a chance to be an elite sniper. Those are very few and far between. But an elite playmaker/finisher isn't bad either, and that's what Marner can be.

Ehlers and Nylander, I see very similar. Again, a small age difference, but I think they end up being very similar players

If you ask who I'm taking, it's the Jets threesome. In large part because Laine is that extra edge
