What to do if/when O\'sullivan signs?

Our league works will a cap of 64,380,000 and real player salaries (excluding bonuses). Counted in the points is 1G, 9F, 4D. I want advice on who should be dropped once O\'sullivan signs. I also need cap room for my 4 rookies because once they play 60 games, their salries are counted. As of right now I have 1.8 Mil cap space. For forwards and def. it\'s 1 real point is 1 point in the pool.

Here\'s my team:

G - Fleury, Budaj
F - Heatley, Nash, Staal, Plekanec, Horcoff, Michalek, O\'Sullivan, Umberger, Jason Williams, Hudler, Christensen, David Perron, Eaves
D - Green, Rafalski, Corvo, Bouwmeester, Oduya
Rookies - B. Ryan, Filatov, Berglund, Oshie

So, obviously my top 4D i won\'t drop. I wont drop my first 6 forwards, and i won\'t drop my goalies.

So any advice would be appreciated. Maybe list in order of who should be dropped first. I\'ll need approx. 2 MIL if all 4 rookies play 60 games (I have 1.8 right now), and approx 3-4 MIL when o\'sullivan signs.

Williams - Even if he\'s playing with Kovy he\'s injury prone and playing on arguably the NHL\'s worst team
Christiansen - See above. Has longer term upside than Williams and is not a bandaid boy. As far as we know.
Eaves - could get a chance with Williams out, but probably won\'t have the highest point totals.
Perron - probably have lower point totals than the players listed above, but I prefer his long term upside.

I wouldn\'t even think about dropping Hudler or Umberger. I think these two are going to have very nice seasons that could net them both 60-70 points.

The only problem, is that we only protect 6 players (any position) at the end of the year so I\'ll lose a lot of my guys. The players that have played less than 60 career games are protected automatically. So i guess i want to keep immediate impact players.

If I do the math:

Cap Space now: 1.8 MIL
Cap when O\'Sullivan signs (4 MIL assumed worst case): -2.2 Mil.

Therfore, i can drop J. Williams and it\'s done. I\'ll worry about the rookies once they reach 60 games. I\'ll drop the players that don\'t count in my top 9 forwards at that time.

I don\'t know if I would feel too bad dropping Umberger. It\'s points-only, and he will be far from top of the list of top scorers making $3-4M. Might be a good choice to cut if you get desperate, but then again how many of your rookies do you expect to keep at the end of this season?

That\'s the problem. I can\'t keep any Rookies unless they play less than 60 games. Some are worth keeping if they can get 60-70 pts for their salary. If not, I won\'t keep them.

For next year, I keep six, Heatley, Fleury, Staal, Green, and then I have two spots. Maybe Corvo, Rafalski?? I guess I\'ll wait and see because I may keep some rookies if they produce well. They are certainly worth it for their salary. After that I won\'t be limited in the draft.

I will re-activate my thread now that O\'sullivan has signed. So I play in a league where we only count total points. There\'s a salary cap, so I need to drop someone now. Here are my players that I could drop. O\'Sullivan has signed 2 yrs, and this year will be 4 MIL according to TSN. I will need to clear 2.2 MIL.

Here\'s my droppable players.

I put that Dobber predicted points. I guess the easy way out is to drop Williams and I\'m ok. What do you guys think?
