In this morning\'s edition of Ottawa\'s Le Droit , journalist Marc Brassard interviews Martin Brodeur\'s father, Denis Brodeur. The article relates that as a youngster, Martin Brodeur was cut from different pee-wee and bantam level hockey teams in his native St- Leonard, Quebec because he was considered too small.

Denis Brodeur who was a Team Canada bronze medal winning goaltender at the 1956 Olympic games in Cortina D\'Ampezzo, Italy as well as a photograph for the Montreal Canadiens says he enjoys talking about his son\'s future NHL records even though his son Martin does not. No less than 5 NHL records for goalies are within reach for Brodeur. He\'s approaching Patrick Roy\'s record for the number of wins. His dad thinks he should clinch this one before the new year (14 wins away). Denis thinks a tough one to beat will be the one held by Terry Sawchuck for shutouts. He\'s seven shutouts away from that and he only had four last year.

Denis Brodeur went through a mild stroke before the Turino Olympics. He\'s on a tour to promote the Making the connection plan to improve heart health
